Atticus Partners, an award-winning full-service agency working across a range of international public affairs and corporate communications clients, is looking for a highly motivated Associate Director, with strong cross-sector experience across public affairs and media, to join our team.

The majority of the team are based in our London office, with our flexible working policy meaning some commute in a few days a week from the home counties and beyond.

Salary - £64,000

In the position of Associate Director, you will:

  • Provides strategic counsel and advice to clients and senior business leaders, developing and delivering innovative, insightful, and integrated solutions
  • Monitor client strategy and both political and industry trends to develop and deliver in-depth strategic solutions for clients
  • Creates budgets and manages them profitably, ensuring a balance between client service and profitability and providing rationale to the client demonstrating added value
  • Assists with business planning through the analysis of opportunities, risks, and threats, resulting in a commercially astute plan
  • Supports the Directors and Partners in key decision making across the wider business
  • Develops and maintains an active network of business contacts for the commercial benefit of the company
  • Have a good commercial awareness, including the willingness to identify potential leads and areas of growth within existing clients as well as broader new business leads proactively
  • Oversees new business pitches and scopes of work for ongoing and potential clients
  • Leads, motivates, and develops account teams and individuals using people management techniques and company processes, ensuring the optimum collaboration of all people across the wider business
  • Demonstrating creativity in problem-solving for clients and the wider business
  • Deputising for Directors as and when necessary

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • 6 years’ experience in an in-house or agency setting, working in several sectors
  • Experience of working closely with a variety of political groups and stakeholders
  • Experience of working on the operational side of a business, including setting budgets, drafting client contracts and Scopes of Work
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced business environment, effectively managing competing demands and priorities while providing strong leadership to those around you
  • Experience in leading a team and mentoring junior members of an organisation
