The UK’s newly formed Select Committees


With the dawn of every new Parliament, comes the election of new Select Committee Chairs and members. House of Commons Select Committees are made up of backbench MPs from across the party spectrum. As detailed by Parliament’s Brief Guide to Select Committees, members are appointed shortly after a general election. This paper focuses on the Chairs and makeup of some of the more notable committees.
